One Sheet of Paper Tutorial: Mini Album

You know I love creating project from only one sheet of paper! Here is another fun and easy tutorial for The Robin's Nest DT. This is a great way to create a project without using too many materials or money. All you need is: one sheet of cardstock, two ribbons and a few embellishments! 1.       Fold a double sided cardstock in four. Open all folds.

2.       Start working on the upper right square. Cut the cardstock on the vertical fold line from the edge to the center. Widen the cut a little bit.

3.       Cut the cardstock on the horizontal fold line half way from the center towards the right.

4.       Fold the upper right square in half to the right.

5.       Cut the cardstock on the new fold line from the center half way to the top.

6.       Fold upward.

7.       Fold again to the right.

8.       Fold downward on the center fold line.

9.       Continue working on the upper left square. Cut the cardstock on the center fold line from the center half way towards the left. Fold to the left.

10.   Fold downward on the center fold line.

11.   Close the two sides of the mini album.

12.   Embellish the cover:

·         Adhere a ribbon around the mini album when closed.

·         Add a tag and another ribbon.
·         Cut flags from scraps of paper and adhere.
·         Add flower and buttons.

13.   Embellish the inside of the mini album but remember to leave room for photos.

Maximize your supplies: 40th Birthday Mini Album

One of the great things about mini albums is that they maximize your supplies. You can use scraps of paper to create them or like in this case one patterned paper. When I saw this paper (Cosmo Cricket Love Notes) in My Punch's Kit of the Month Club I knew it will be a mini album. Half of the work was already done because the pattern of the paper was 6 beautiful double sided tags just waiting to be bounded together as a mini album.

I always design for other people, mainly my two sons. This time I decided to make this mini all about me. So I created an inspiration quotes' mini book for my 40^th birthday.

Single sheet of paper: Top 10 Mini Album

If you are like me, a fan of projects made from only a single sheet of paper, you must love all the pattern papers with the journaling cards on them. They are perfect for small, fast but great one paper projects! Here is a mini album I made from Victoria Gardens journaling cards paper by Echo Park as a DT project for My Punch Kit of the month club.

You can do it too:

1. Cut the paper into two leaving the upper 8 journaling cards as one block. Leave the other part of the paper aside, we will use it later.

2. Make a slit in the middle of the paper piece two journaling cards across.

3. Make three fold lines starting from the left: first and third fold lines valley and the second middle fold line a mountain.

4. Fold the paper into a mini album.

5. Now you can use the remaining piece of journaling cards to embellish your mini. I chose a theme of top 10 things I love about you. You can insert journaling cards into the pockets created in the mini album.

Single sheet of paper: three cards

It's that time again! The time for another great "one sheet of paper” tutorial. This month I had to go to a few events and I made a few cards. That led me to think…how can I make beautiful cards and still save up my supplies. Well, the answer is to use one sheet of paper to design three different cards and the leftovers to create the embellishments.




















You will need:

1 sheet of double sided cardstock.

A few embellishments like ribbon and buttons

Cut a 12" by 8" rectangle. Cut it to three rectangles 4" by 8" each.

Card #1: window card

1. Take one rectangle. Fold on the 2" line and on the 6" line to create two flaps that open outward.

2. Add a lace ribbon around the card.

3. Create a border from the remaining cardstock.

4. Add a spiral flower. You can find the instruction for the flower on the 101 Flower tutorial: spiral flower.

Card #2: surprise card

1. Take second rectangle. Fold in the middle on the 4" line.

2. Punch the upper right corner of the outer flap.

3. Use the punched piece to create a flower.

4. Add buttons and a ribbon as a border.

5. To complete the look tie a piece of ribbon through the hole.

Card #3: Easel card

1. Use the last rectangle piece. Fold on the 2" line and the 4" line.

2. Cut a 4" 1"4 strip from the scrap paper. Adhere on the edge of the card, on the inside. This will keep the card standing when you open it.

3. Punch a scalloped circle from the leftover paper and adhere to the card. put the adhesive only up to the 2" fold line. This will make the circle pop when you open the card.

4. Punch flowers and adhere to the circle with 3D adhesive. Add bling or brads.

There you go, three great cards from only one paper! Saves you time and money!

Single sheet of paper: Growing Up mini album

It's time for another great project made from a single sheet of double sided cardstock! A DT project created as part of the Kit of the month club for My Punch.

Just the other day I was going over some photos of my kids and I suddenly realized how fast they grow. Time just flies and we hardly notice the minutes and the hours and suddenly here they are all grown up, going to school, playing with friends, not the little cute babies they were only yesterday… all of that inspired me to create a mini album with a message to my two boys, a message of love from their mom.

The journaling reads: "just yesterday you were in first grade and already you go to the fifth grade. Your shoe size is already bigger than mine, you're almost as tall as me and even your voice has started to change".

The journaling reads: "I remember when you were born, you were so sweet and Mor used to give you a hard time. And here you are a big boy, going to school by yourself, riding your bike and meeting with your friends and going to the third grade.

Here is how you can create your mini album:

1. Cut 4 pieces 4" by 8".

2. Fold them in half.

3. Cut out a 2 1/2" by 1 1/2" triangle from one folded square. Repeat with another square.

4. Fold in half two edges of each square in a valley fold, in order to create a "W".

5. Adhere the two un- cut squares back to back.

6. Adhere two outer flaps of the W pieces to the inside of the mini album. repeat with other piece.

7. Add photos, embellishments and journaling.
