Published on Prima

What a joy to see another one of my layouts on the prima blog. This layout is full of flowers and not just the kind that grows from the ground.
This layout tells the story of two boys that just love to outdoors and watch the flowers bloom. Since I consider them to be my flowers I thought it was appropriate to combine the title with the photos.

I used a fun technique on this layout. The photo seems to be embedded in the background paper because the tear in the paper goes on the photo too. The way to do that is to make a cut in the photo and insert the tearinto the photo. Cool, right?

Technique Corner – Dance "flag" letters

Another one of my layouts was published on Prima blog! This time it's a really cute lo telling the story of two young dancers: my son and my niece. The dance and the choreography was completely theirs as well as the idea to make the performance it my son's 11th birthday.

I wanted to share an easy fun technique I used in this lo. Flags are in fashion these days, but sometimes I feel like it's been done too much. So, instead of hanging flags on the rope I decided to hang letters! The technique is simple:

*letters with holes like O, B, and D are easy to hang. Simply thread the twine or string through the hole and your letter is hung.

*letters like E, M and F are a little trickier because they have no hole. In this case hang the letter by placing the string in the corner of a letter creating the illusion that the string is holding it.

*The problem is with letters like I, L and J, they are straight and can't be hanged. The solution I found is put the letter on the string and let it blend with the other letters as if it is hanged as well…lol.

Published on Prima: Magic of Creation

Another one of my layouts was published on the Prima blog! This time it's a lo of me when I was so much younger. As you can see I started crafting early and this photo was taken when I was sitting in the garden doing needle work of some kind. I really love this photo and I've used it before on a layout, but I couldn't resist the chance of scrappin' it again.

First I had to print the photo so my image's size will be compatible with the bench's size. Then I cut the image out and adhered it to the bench. Then I created a magical surrounding by adding lots of flowers and butterflies.

Published on Prima's blog

I love Prima's "Build a Page" contest! Every month they have a sketch and blog readers are welcomed to design a layout. It's really fun working with a sketch, because you can interpret it any way you want and add your personal touch. I have done two layouts for the December and January BAP contest and they were both picked up by Prima and published on their blog!!

December LO: ADORABLE: cute layout with two of my old baby photos. Embellished with hand made flags and a lot of flowers, birds and girls sitting on a tree branch.
January LO: NATURE BOY: A nature layout with my boy who loves flowers and the outdoors. The background was misted and I added flowers, a tree and cut out flower shapes from some Prima's papers leftovers.

Everyone can join the fun!

Published on Prima

I wanted to share with you my layout that was recently published on the Prima blog as part of the Build-A-Page contest. I wanted forever to send one of my layouts to the BAP contest, but I never had the time. Finally, last October I found the time to sit down and create a page according to the sketch. I guess they liked it over there at Prima.

This is a layout I made with one of my son's favorite photos. I don't have a lot of photos of him smiling like that, so this photo is really precious.

I didn't forget our winners!
The winner of Day 12 of the Blog party is…Candice!
Our grand prize goes to…Salina!
Congratulations!
Please email me your details.

Thanks again to everyone who participated in the blog party, it was really fun!

Independence Day

I was recently published in an e-book of crafts for Independence Day. The book is full of great projects for the American Independence Day, but can easily be applied to any country's Independence Day; all you need to do is simply change the color scheme to fit the colors of your flag!

My contribution to the book was a scrapbook layout designed with one of my favorite paper products: Lace paper. I found just the right paper for this layout, all blue stars. The full instructions of this layout are in the e-book and it is really easy.
