One of my favorite layouts to create is a scene layout. What's a scene layout you ask...well, this is a type of layout that basically presents a scene on the paper.
A few important things you need to know in order to create a scene layout:
1. Cut the images from the photo or use cut outs. The purpose of that is that the image will blend in the scene without the background of the photo.
2. Create a story and/or place for the scene. For example: in the garden, on the beach, through the window etc.
3. Arrange the scene in a logical order. That means you have to make sure you have soil, flowers, trees, sand etc. on the bottom of the page and butterflies, birds, clouds or sky on the top of the page.
4. Match the size of the image to the embellishments and elements in the scene. That means that if you use trees all of them should be bigger or smaller than your image, depends on the scene you're creating. Maybe you want your kid to appear as a giant, so the trees and everything else should be smaller than him.
Have fun creating!
