FLY- art journal page

Art journal pages are a great way to express yourself and create your own private book of inspiration.
It's a wonderful opportunity to experiment with new materials and techniques.

I did just that in this art journal page. You are welcome to take a look in the video and discover the secrets of creating colored layers on paper.

You can also learn a new technique to create and use color using Perfect Pearls.

Each page has a mini theme that coordinates with the grade. for example first grade has ABC embellishment, 3rd grade is good work..serious tests are starting...

6th grade is all about sports, 7th is music, 8th grade is the time that the giggling starts and the interest in the opposite sex..9th grade is on the phone...10th grade is a full time student and the 11th grade is all about independence and self opinions.

The last page is the 12th grade which is all about what you take with you when you graduate and what you should aspire for.

If you liked my project show me some love and leave a comment.

Round Chest Drawer

Hello crafty friends!
It's time for another Saturday MIXTRAVAGANZA video tutorial!
Today I'm so excited to share with you one of my greatest passion in crafting...paper engineering. This is a field where you design patterns and build things from scratch.

Today's project is beautiful and useful. We will be building a round chest drawer that can store your buttons, beads and embellishments.

If you would like to have the pattern on the video contact me and I'll send you a PDF file.
This chest drawer is versatile and can be built in levels to have more storage.

All you need is 2 disks, patterned paper and a piece of chipboard. Join me in this fun project!

Maximize your supplies - moments

This is a DT layout for Susan K. Weckesser that was created for a special collaboration with Want2Scrap.

This layout has a few cool techniques you can learn about from this video tutorial.

you ever had a paper you wish you didn't have to create a layout with? What I mean is that creating a layout meant to lose a pattern on it. Well I found a solution...cut out what ever you don't want to lose and use it! The holes in the paper are covered with other elements or embellishments and this way you get to "eat the cake and leave it whole" at the same time!

Another fun technique I used on this layout is double embossing. It's a great way to create a double color effect with your embossing powders.

What goes around comes around...

Today Saturday MIXTRAVAGANZA video tutorial is all about personal creation and inspiring messages. Art journals is an amazing way to put your feelings and words into artistic creation. It's a really fun way to express yourself!

Art journals is all about mixed media. Creating backgrounds, images and sentiments from a verity of materials in a whole range of techniques. In my art journal page I used mainly acrylic paints in different techniques.

The most important thing about art journaling is that it's by you and for you. it can be your book of ideas, inspiration and motivation. It can be filled with colors, inspirational sentences, thought, graphic and design ideas etc.
But the really most important part is to have fun!

Box of Treasures

Recently I seemed to have gotten in touch with my vintage side. The ephemera, steampunk, metaly side. It all started with a really small metal embellishments collection that was lying in a drawer forgotten. I don't know when or why but I started playing with it and before I knew it I started collecting old screws, hinges and cog wheels. I bought small treasures and jewelry parts in flee markets and soon enough I had a box full of treasures. It was time I made something with them don't you think?

So I took Tim Holtz's Configuration Box and started filling it with my treasures.

I covered the box with the beautiful Sunrise-Sunset collection by Prima and covered all the edges with washi tape. Then I started to have fun!

Saturday MIXTRAVAGANZA - Texture Magic Mixed Media Canvas

I love texture. I think it adds so much to each creation, it makes it more 3 dimensional and interesting and not flat and boring. This Saturday MIXTRAVAGANZA is all about texture! Join me in creating a canvas that is full of texture magic!

It's really simple...you glue any embellishment you want on your canvas. I've used metal embellishments and paper flowers.

These embellishments create a pattern, a texture, a visual interesting shapes on the flat canvas. Then cover everything with gesso and spray!

Have a wonderful year card

Tomorrow Jewish people around the world will celebrate the new year.
Here's a simple card I made for the new year to give to a special someone tomorrow evening.

One of the symbols of the holiday is a pomegranate which is a seasonal local fruit. The pomegranate has a lot of seeds inside that are a symbol of the Torah's commandments. According to tradition there are 613 seeds in a pomegranate like the 613 commandments of the Torah (I counted the seeds once and there were much less seeds then that but why argue with tradition...).

One of the common blessings of the holiday is that your year may be filled with good things like a pomegranate.

I wish you all a wonderful, creative and happy year!
