It's card time

The new (Hebrew) year is approaching fast and it is time to start working on my Happy New Year cards. This year I decided to do 2-3 types of cards and make a few copies of each. This way I will not have to think about a different card for each person, but I will not be board making the same card over and over again.

The first card is a sunflower design made with Heartfelt Creation stamps and their matching Nestabilities.

A few challenges:

* etsyinspired - Cathy walters: Sunny creating pendant - #100 challenge
* Stacy's stamping stage - Curtain call challenge 42
* Creative inspirations challenge #40 - rcycled element
* Practical scrappers - summer theme product
*Tuesday taggers - Sunshine
* ABC challenge - A is for August

Dreams

I was invited to be a guest designer at "Scrap the Poetry" after winning one of their challenges.

This time the poem was "Dreams" by Langston Hughes.
Hold fast to dreams
for if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
that cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
for when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.

Dreams are such an important thing to have. They inspire you to achieve great things, they help you see things in a different way and they enrich who you are as a person. This theme was so right for me, because I am a person who followed her dream. I left a steady job to be a professional designer; I followed my dreams and followed my heart. The beginning was hard, I had to build a business and generate income when no one here knew what scrapbooking was about. It happened slowly, but I was true to my dream and I didn't give up!

One kit…how many Designs?

How many things can I design from one kit? That was the question I had when I got my first kit as the designer of the kit of the month club from My Punch.

Well..I designed four little items, three layouts and still had leftovers.
Everything I designed was made only from the materials in the kit except ink and stickles.

This way of working was challenging because I had to make do with what I had and if I wanted something that was missing from the kit I had to create it myself. For example, the red heart on the mini album was created from part of the letter J and a question mark.

I can't wait for the next kit! I wonder what surprises will be in it...

ins(paper)ation

Another ins(paper)ation project coming your way. This project was inspired by…me! However I wasn't the only one inspired. My friend Alice from My Punch liked the puzzle mini album "Pieces of my Heart" I made with Kiki Art products, so she asked me to make a bigger version of it and teach a class.

Each page is made from puzzle pieces I took from an old puzzle of my kids (a good way to recycle old puzzles you don't need anymore). I used the Family line from Fancy Pants for all the backgrounds. I added photos of my two cute boys in different ages and some cool embellishments.
I sanded the edges so the papers and the photos would fit nicely to all the curves. I also inked them to create more definition.
Here are some of the embellishments I used.
The class was a lot of fun and the mini albums turned out beautiful.
